Marco Tchen was born in Bologna in 1971, where he grew up and received his education. After completing his studies in Economics and Business Administration at the University of Bologna, he moved to China where he developed his career based on international trade and consulting. During these 20 years of experience in China, he has assisted many international companies, both in independent projects and in Joint Ventures. Since 2016 he has been President of Bolognafiere China, where he has been able to put his experience to good use bringing excellent results in terms of size and profits, as well as in locally organized events.
In 2017, India, a highly competitive market, was added to the subsidiary’s tasks. In January 2021, it launched BFS China, the Chinese branch of the Bolognafiere Group’s exhibition design section. The unit has grown and now has 10 staff including designers and salespeople. The business is divided between Bolognafiere group events and fairs and events of external organizers in China and around the world.
