In SPD we believe that education should be accessible, respectful, and attentive to diversity. For this reason, we offer dedicated services designed to ensure a fair and supportive learning experience for all students, with particular attention to those in need of tailored learning tools or pathways that affirm their personal identity.
SPD – Scuola Politecnica di Design Milano, in line with Italian regulations on accessibility and inclusion and in keeping with its commitment to promoting best practices in academic support and integration, has published these guidelines regarding Specific Learning Disorders (SLD).
The SPD Management, in collaboration with the Inclusion Office, is committed to strengthening and continuously improving existing measures in the fields of teaching and inclusion. This effort actively involves all faculty members and administrative departments.
The aim of these guidelines is to increase awareness of the services available to the academic community, outline the procedures in place to support inclusion, describe the tools and resources provided, and identify the key figures responsible for implementing and ensuring inclusive practices throughout the School.
SPD reaffirms its dedication to creating an accessible and supportive learning environment, where every student is encouraged to fully realize their potential and be an active part of the community.
In line with its core values of inclusion, respect, and protection of personal dignity, SPD – Scuola Politecnica di Design has established the Alias Career Path to promote a safe, respectful, and supportive academic and professional environment for individuals undergoing a gender transition.
This procedure allows for the use of a transitional identity within the school community. While not legally binding outside the institution, the Alias Career is designed to safeguard the well-being, dignity, and privacy of the student requesting it.
SPD recognizes the importance of supporting those who do not identify with their legal name by offering a regulated, accessible, and confidential process. The institution’s policy draws on best national and international practices concerning the inclusion and protection of transgender and gender non-conforming individuals, and is aligned with the principles set out in applicable legislation.
Through this initiative, SPD reaffirms its commitment to creating an academic setting where everyone can fully express their identity and feel respected and valued throughout their educational journey.

As part of its ongoing commitment to promoting the well-being and personal growth of the entire community, SPD offers a dedicated psychological support service for all students. This initiative aims to provide an initial space for listening and dialogue, helping safeguard mental health and supporting balance between personal life, study, and future aspirations.
What it is
The psychological support service is free of charge and designed to accompany students throughout their academic journey. It offers a safe and professional point of reference to face moments of difficulty, stress, anxiety, or simply to enhance personal and relational awareness. The service is made possible thanks to a collaboration with Sygmund, the mental well-being app that allows students to easily and confidentially connect with a team of qualified psychologists and psychotherapists.
How it works
Through the Sygmund platform, students can choose and meet the professional best suited to their needs. All sessions take place online, in complete safety and with full respect for privacy.
Sygmund is a platform managed by an entity registered with the Italian National Health Service (SSN) and supervised by the Order of Psychologists, ensuring high standards of quality, effectiveness, and data protection.
