Master’s degrees are aimed at candidates with a degree relevant to the course of studies of interest and with an adequate portfolio. Students who have graduated in different disciplines can access to a One-Year Courses, at the end of which admission to the Master may be requested.
To start the admission process SPD requires the following documents:
- cv,
- portfolio,
- motivation letter,
- copy of transcripts,
- copy of bachelor degree (if you already graduate),
- copy of your id/passport.

The portfolio is a fundamental tool to get to know you better: SPD suggests you to send your resume and present all the projects showing your main abilities acquired so far, including the entire creative process and the final version of the project itself.
Students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible to secure a place as the SPD programs have a limited number of participants.
SPD do not require a specific English certificate; however, an English test is made during the interview to verify the speaking and comprehension level of the student that should be at least equivalent to an intermediate one.
SPD masters offer academic qualifications corresponding to 60 CFU/ECTS credits; they are promoted in collaboration with IULM University.
Master programs have a professional orientation and renowned designers in different fields. The final internship (or project work) allows the students to join primary firms and to consolidate their skills in a challenging environment. This is effective training for future professionals.

SPD offers benefits and scholarships at specific times of the year through its Early Bird offer. In addition, the school offers partial scholarships to the most promising candidates. For more information, arrange an interview with our Academic Office by sending an email to info@scuoladesign.com.
SPD assists international students with information on visa procedures – if applicable – and on the documents needed for the recognition of the entry qualification. Furthermore, after the enrolment process, they will receive the Welcome Booklet with tips and contacts to prepare their stay in Milan. During the Welcome Day, students will familiarise with the campus, the program and their colleagues before starting their studies.
Most of SPD programs start every year in the middle of October; selected courses can start in March.
All courses take place in Milan, an incredibly vibrant design capital, with the most important design events in the world. SPD is located in Piazzale Lugano, 19 Milano. The Academic Office is available to offer orientation services. In order to participate, please email info@scuoladesign.com.
Typical classes are made up of around 20-25 students, which allow a strong individual connection between professor and student with a personalised approach.
Teaching hours per week vary depending on the courses and on the time of the year. Programs require full-time commitment for lessons attendance, independent research and group work.
Programs entail different classes over the year, each one with a final assessment. After having completed the internship (or project work), Master students must sit the final exam.
