Exploring European dental design and trends with Morita

SPD Scuola Politecnica di Design explored the latest trends in the design and innovation of medical products, with a focus on dental diagnostics and endodontics, during a tailor-made course for J. MORITA CORP. that mediated between Italian and Japanese design cultures.

Led by designers from the renowned design studio FROG DESIGN, appointed by SPD as project leaders, the participants, 8 professionals from different MORITA business units (design, marketing, R&D, and production), had the opportunity to practice design research methodologies aimed at understanding and mapping the orthodontic journey through observation and analysis of context and tools, to design innovative roles, skills, and spaces for patients, doctors, and caregivers.

This once again demonstrates the incredibly rewarding dialogue with companies, manufacturers, and the various actors along the design chain, which is quintessential to the “SPD way” of teaching design.
