SPD and the Volkswagen Group keep going with their educational collaboration and for the next edition of the Master in Transportation and Car Design starting in October 2011, will make available tuition waiversto candidates with high potential.
In recent years SPD has completed various experimental projects in association with the Volkswagen Design Group led by Walter de’ Silvaand in 2010 signed a five-year partnership agreement with the German manufacturer for the development of urban mobility concepts in the framework of the city if Milan. With the endorsement of the Municipality, this initiative will embrace a diverse range of key topics to enhance sustainability consciuos attitudes from micromobility to e-car for private and commercial use, and people movers. All the brands will be involved from Audi to Lamborghini, from Volkswagen to Bugatti.
VW that aims at becoming world’s largest car manufacturer thanks to its huge growth in the Asian market, will take active part into the didactic path by providing experts’ lectures and workshops with the designers from the various studios of the group that will support the tutors and the supervisor of the programme at SPD, Andreas Zapatinas, to help orientate the work of the students.
SPD is now accepting applications for admission to the 2011-2012 edition of the programme. The selection is open to candidates holding a degree in Transportation design, product design, engineering and equivalent or having gained a significant professional experience in automotive field.
A number of partial and full tuition scholarships are available for outstanding profiles. The election process for award of scholarship will be conducted jointly by VW and SPD.
