Master in Event and Exhibition Design

The blending of two worlds: space design and exhibition and event organisation. The university master’s degree is an interdisciplinary course aimed at training new professional figures who combine the design approach with management, marketing and communication skills. The Master is organised in collaboration with Fondazione Fiera Milano and IULM University.

Today the new consumer needs, the evolution of the trade fair and event system and the new digital technologies require professionals capable of developing increasingly innovative solutions. The Master’s training model is based on the constant interaction with professionals of each field. Teaching is centered around theoretical and cultural themes combined with workshop activities in collaboration with important companies, firms, and design agencies operating in the events, trade fairs, and exhibitions sector, to promote the students’ creative participation.

The master’s course is open to graduates in disciplines related to humanities, design and social sciences: Architecture, Urban Planning, Design, Performing Arts and Art Disciplines in general, Economics, Public Relations, Communication Sciences orother; professionals with proven experience in planning and organizing events, trade fairs, and exhibitions.
Enrolements are limited. The selection is based on evaluation of a CV, a portfolio (if available), and on an individual interview. Application for admission must be sent to the Master Office at Scuola Politecnica di Design.

The Master’s course consists of 600 hours of teaching (frontal teaching, tutorials and workshops), 300 hours of internship and 600 hours of individual study, for a total of 1500 hours.


At the end of lessons, students will start their internship lasting approximately three months at companies or professional firms in the field. The participants transfer the skills acquired into a professional setting.

The Master’s course is held entirely in English.

The multidisciplinary nature of the Master’s program provides many career opportunities to a qualified Event and Exhibition Designer: marketing or communication departments of manufacturing, distribution or service companies, PR and communication firms, trade fair organizers and businesses operating in the field, venue management agencies, public and private cultural institutions. MEED is also suitable for people interested in starting an entrepreneurial or consultancy career.
