Micah Silver is an American artist and composer working at the intersection of sound, space, and technology. He is the co-founder of Polytope, a collective that integrates sound into the design of cultural spaces, collaborating with museums, architects, and exhibition designers. He studied at Wesleyan University and MIT. His sound installations have been presented internationally at venues such as Palais de Tokyo and Mass MoCA. He is the author of Figures in Air: Essays Toward a Philosophy of Audio, which explores sound as a medium for social and emotional construction. He has curated over 100 projects, including the launch of EMPAC (Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center), and founded Black Hole, an immersive listening space now based in Tokyo.
