It is what it is

Susan Sellers is co-founder and partner of 2×4, one of the most innovative design firms on the contemporary American scene. This lecture with the title It is what it is – from the recent book collecting their first 15 years of activity – introduces celebrated works such as the ones for Nike, the Illinois Institute of Technology and Prada (these last two projects are the fruit of an intense collaboration with Rem Koolhaas’ OMA) moving across branding, retail communication and graphic design applied to architecture.

Founded in 1994 by Michael Rock, Susan Sellers and Georgianna Stout, 2×4 is an expansive practice – with offices in New York and Beijing – that engages print, film/video, web and environmental design. 2×4’s intellectual and creative focus is on the thoughtful, dynamic, often unexpected, expression of meaningful content — medium follows a rigorous analysis of message, context and audience – for art, design, architecture, fashion and cultural clients.
