A professionally trained musician, John L. Walters is a journalist and critic and since 1999 is the director of Eye Magazine, prestigious periodical on graphic design and visual communication. In 2008, together with Simon Esterson, he becomes owner and publisher of the magazine, which since then is totally independent.
Walters regularly participates in International conferences and juries, amongst which the European Design Awards and the 24th Biennial of Graphic Design in Brno.
