LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® METHOD
The Foundation Training in LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® METHOD is an intensive programme for professionals who want to design and lead workshops that boost innovation and alignment. Combining theory and hands-on practice, participants learn to facilitate, customise, and deliver workshops confidently. Upon completion, they are fully qualified and authorised to use the methodology and materials.
What is LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® METHOD
The LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® METHOD, co-created by Robert Rasmussen and Per Kristiansen, is grounded in academic research by Professors Johan Roos and Bart Victor and draws on established theories such as constructionism (Seymour Papert) and flow theory (Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi). Research shows that the method supports identity expression, stimulates meaningful dialogue within teams and with stakeholders, creates shared frames of reference during innovation processes, and enables the development of powerful metaphors to address organisational challenges.
Features
This Foundation Training follows the official roadmap developed by the Association of Master Trainers in the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® METHOD.
The programme combines:

Participants will work directly with the core LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® METHOD process, exploring its standard applications, including Real Time Strategy for the Team and Real Time Strategy for the Enterprise.
The training is delivered by Daniele Radici, certified Trainer of the Association of Master Trainers, trained by the original LEGO® master trainers Per Kristiansen and Robert Rasmussen.
The full programme runs over four consecutive days, from 08:30 to 17:30, with Day 3 including a shared dinner and evening group work session. The course is limited to approximately 12 participants, ensuring a highly interactive and immersive learning experience.
The training is based on a learning-by-doing approach, placing participants directly in the role of facilitators and workshop designers.
The main objectives of the programme are to:
- Experience and master the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® METHOD and its standard applications
- Understand the theories underpinning the method, including constructionism, flow, and embodied cognition
- Develop the skills needed to design, customise, and facilitate workshops in different professional contexts
- Practise designing tailored LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® METHOD workshops aligned with organisational and strategic goals
The Foundation Training is designed for professionals with prior experience in facilitation, coaching, or group work.

Day 1
Introduction to the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® METHOD core process, key theories, and design elements.
Day 2
Working with the Real Time Strategy for the Enterprise application, focused on strategy and business development.
Day 3
Completion of the Real Time Strategy for the Enterprise application, followed by group work to design customised workshops.
Day 4
Presentation of workshop designs with feedback and introduction to the Real Time Strategy for the Team application.
Upon completion of the programme, participants will receive a complete facilitator manual covering the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® METHOD, its theoretical foundations, and step-by-step facilitation guidelines for team and strategy development applications, along with tools for designing customised workshops. Participants will also obtain an official document of qualification, full authorisation to use the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® METHOD and materials without restrictions, a one-hour personal mentoring call after the training, and free access to two online “Ask Me Anything about LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® METHOD” sessions conducted by the trainer.
