The DesignTalks series introduces Fabio Parasecoli’s research on the representation of food in films as a social and political battleground.
A selection of outstanding speakers – David Moretti, Massimo Pitis, Martí Guixé and Javier Bonet – will provide the grand finale to the 2016 season of Design Talks, the annual lecture programme promoted by SPD to explore the most interesting research trends in design, architecture, graphic and multimedia at international level.
This year the series has already brought in names of the first rank such as Philippe Nigro, Francisco Gomez Paz, Paul Mijksenaar and Borja Marinez from Lo Siento among others.
On Tuesday July 12th David Moretti and Massimo Pitis will be the next guests. Moretti, deputy creative director of Wired, and and Pitis, graphic designer of international fame, will illustrate their award-winning work for this celebrated magazine that managed to reinvent a genre. The two of them will talk about their collaboration between San Francisco and Milan and present result of the efforts of an excellent network of professionals including photographers, art directors, illustrators and information graphics who contributed to this global success.
On Thursday July 14th Martí Guixé, designer of international fame, and Javier Bonet, creator of culinary concepts, will speak about the new formats and the social rituals in the new spaces to enjoy food in the finale of the lecture series. This all-Spanish duo will have the audience involved in a conversation on the innovation in today’s gastronomic culture, between memories of the past and the quest for new experiences capable of bringing together products, design and communication.
