- Maya: introduction. General interface aspects.
- Using the help function and online guides.
- Scene creation: overview of tools and actions.
- Display modes: axes and coordinates.
- Perspective, orthographic views.
- Creating objects: NURBS, primitives and polygonals
- Display modes. Using axes and grids.
- Modifying objects: transformation tools. Manipulators, axes, pivots; moving, scaling and rotating objects. Using Hyper graph function.
- Object editing: select modes for cancelling, duplicating, grouping, creating instances and hierarchies. NURBS and polygonal modelling.
- Use of layers.
- Deformers
- Light, shade and materials settings. Texture mapping. HyperShade rendering options.
- Basic animation concepts: keyframes, curves, trajectories; various animation techniques. Graphs
- Editors
- Personalising Maya interface. Setting options and preferences.
